Sick of the same old fitness routine?
Need something a bit more...rewarding?

Last Saturday I was dragged by a friend to her 'Casual Pole Dancing' class at in Malaga.

Now I know what you're thinking, a Saturday morning isn't exactly the most ideal time of the week to get all glammed up for some hip-swinging pole routine - but this class is not what you may first expect.

In the reception area you're greeted with a range of sexy high heeled shoes and figure-hugging apparel for sale, obviously a lure for the more eager and talented polexperts. Yet inside the class, instead of g-strings and cleverly placed tassels, most of the participants had opted for comfortable gym attire (high heels optional).

Being a casual class, all levels from beginner to advanced are welcome, with a fully trained supervisor to demonstrate all the classic pole-dancing basics. One of the first things you will discover, is there is more to the art of pole dancing than being able to hang upside down and twirl your hair around. In fact, even a sultry walk around the pole requires a level of practiced control and co-ordination. Fortunately, with some one-on-one advice, and a few basic moves under your belt, it doesn't take long to switch on your sexy side and unleash the prowess within.

Needless to say, while learning the best way to strut, stand, twist and stick your buttocks out, we worked muscles in places we didn't realise we had them. There were also plenty of laughs and giggles to make the 45 minutes disappear before we knew it.

If you love the feeling you get after a good workout but find it hard to get the motivation to exercise in the first place (like most of us) Pole Dancing is definitely worth a try. The Casual Pole Class is conducted in an enclosed room with girls of all shapes and sizes welcome, so there's no need to be shy.

in Malaga offers a variety of female-only classes including Casual Pole Classes, Kick-Boxing, Fit-Ball, Flex n Stretch, Fever Teaser and more, all with fantastic and friendly trainers. Booking is made very simple with an online timetable and registration system.

So if you need the perfect excuse to get out of bed on a Saturday morning for a bit of fun and fitness, why not give pole dancing a swing? You'll find all the details at PoleFever.com.au
