Celebrate Poland's rich and vibrant culture

Over 10 fun-filled days, Brisbane will celebrate the rich and vibrant culture of Poland with PolArt 2018 Brisbane.

Held from 27 December 2018 to 6 January 2019, this unique cultural festival showcases Polish dance, music, theatre, film, visual arts and literature in the heart of Brisbane.

The largest event of its kind outside of Poland, the festival is held every three years in a capital city around Australia and has something for everyone.

The festival will officially open with the Children's Day on Friday 28 December at the State Library of Queensland precinct, where children and their families can come along to enjoy FREE activities and entertainment.

Through arts and crafts, folkloric dance workshops, nursery rhyme musical games and traditional storytelling children are invited to experience wonderful and colourful traditions.

Festival president, Chris Dutkowski is very excited to bring PolArt to Brisbane once again. "The festival is about sharing the heart and soul of our culture and our heritage with the community. We look forward to promoting and contributing to the multicultural character of Australia. It is definitely something you wouldn't want to miss," Mr Dutkowski said.

Artistic director, Henry Kurylewski adds "The folkloric concerts are truly indescribable they're vibrant, uplifting and showcase the diversity, beauty and richness that is traditional Polish folkloric dancing.

"We're bringing together 13 folkloric dance groups from across Australia and New Zealand and you can really feel the love and passion performers have for their culture when they dance."

The jam-packed program includes a vibrant musical journey with folkloric dance, a theatrical program from Polish classics and cabaret to satire, an exhibition of works from hundreds of talented Polish visual artists and a musical line up featuring classical to contemporary to music of Warsaw of the '20s there will be something to suit everyone's taste!
