Registration for this tournament is at 6:00pm with start time of 7:00pm, enough time to have a great Irish meal or an Aussie one, which ever takes your fancy. Dannii and I decided to have Rissoles on mash potatoes, the rissoles were to die for, the flavours were fantastic. Yes all that for a Rissole, you just have to try them. A couple of drinks are ordered and the friendly staff deliver with a smile. We complete our meals and the Poker begins.
Australian Pro Poker reward you for supporting the venue; you receive additional chips for any meal that you order and all drinks that you purchase. This is all recorded on a players card given to you upon registration. Players start to fall and by 9:20pm the final table was decided. Now the serious poker begins. Well that's what Ben the host said with a chuckle. I get knocked out in 10th position, and shake the hand of the player who took me out. Players that had been knocked out earlier stayed and watched the rest of the game and those that didn't watch enjoyed the Pubs atmosphere with a drink and a chat or tried there luck on the Pokies.
By 10:15pm it's heads up, Cory and David sit face to face, both with determination in there eyes. That's what I said. David makes a move pushing all his chips into the middle, Cory looks David in the eyes for a minute and calls. David shows Kh 5d Cory turns over Ad 3d. Fop comes Ac 3c 8s turn 2d river 2h making Cory the tournament winner - picking up a $50 voucher, $20 cash a APP Cap and Card Guard and the glory. Great game Cory.
