Accomodation, catering, Swan River views and conference room
Point Walter Recreation and Conference Centre is at the beginning of Stock Road in Bicton overlooking the vast Swan River and amongst the towering mansions overlooking the water and behind the Point Walter Golf Course. With rolling lawns and a million dollar view, this place is the perfect camp for anybody.
The rooms are private and accommodate up to 124 people in either Aviary Ensuite Rooms or Osprey Dormitory. The Aviary rooms are split into five separate accommodation areas. Each room has two bunk beds (sleeps four people), a table, reading lamps, fans, hanging and storage space. Nineteen of the twenty-two rooms have ensuites, the other three Aviary rooms are to share an ensuite with the adjoining room. Aviary Ensuite Rooms accommodate 88 of the 124 people. The Osprey Dormitory has a million dollar view of the Swan River and can accommodate up to 36 people. Osprey consists of nine rooms that contain two bunk beds (sleeps four people), reading lamps, fans, hanging and storage space like Aviary, but has a modified ablution block for male and female ablutions (showers and toilets).
The Cygnet dining room can hold up to 120 people seated comfortably and is fully catered by Accolade Catering. The menus are common and can cater to dietary requirements. The views are amazing and windows give all attendees a view of magnificent sunrises and sunsets. There is also a tea/coffee making area with boiling water dispenser and a cold water dispenser. A whiteboard at one end and two split system air conditioners with ceiling fans for diners comfort. Attached is the Pelican Function Room with more tables and chairs to seat another 160 people with access to an inbuilt data projector and screen allowing for TV, DVD and linking to your laptop. These rooms are perfect for weddings, conferences and medium sized gatherings.
There is also the Graham Russell Conference Centre is split into three rooms which can be used as dining or meeting facility at the camp with enough tables and chairs for 100 people in total. Or stack the chairs and tables away and use the space for a disco as we did. With multi-functioning lights in separate areas, we were able to have the dance floor dark whilst the entrance was lit for photos in the largest room. And there are more amazing views from Graham Russell Conference Room as well. This building is air-conditioned with ceiling fans, have cold water dispensers, white board, overhead projector with DVD/TV/VCR and a small PA system. The smaller room is ideal for 20 people seated with a TV/VCR available and the smallest room can seat 10 people comfortably and is more suited for discussions. There is a kitchenette with hot water urn, sink and small fridge perfect for hot drink making and located between the two seminar rooms
Between Cygnet Dining Room, Pelican Function Room and Graham Russell Conference Centre is the pool. A blue oasis in the summer with sun lounges to bathe in the sun. The pool is fully fenced and overlooks the swan river. Bring your own towel, hat, bathers and sunscreen for a relaxing time!
Along the river's edge near the office is a gazebo perfect for those nuptials or scouting adventures or you could have an open ceremony in the natural amphitheatre near the Pelican Function Room (just ask guests to bring their own picnic rugs). Both have unobstructed views and are perfect pictures.
For the brave, there is also a Ropes Activity Area with high flying and tight ropes. Or for those who want to stay firmly on the ground, we can play tennis, basketball or try the low ropes course.
Packages and pricing is available for all sized groups from 10 to 160 people and community groups like schools, sports clubs, senior citizens and book club are inclined to enquire.
