Nothing gets the adrenalin going like the raw power of a full-on military air show.
The Centenary of Military Aviation Air Show 2014 celebrates 100 years of military flying at Point Cook, the birthplace of the
Royal Australian Air Force and the oldest continually operating military airfield in the world.
Point Cook, or
RAAF Williams to give it its official title, will host a cavalcade of Australian military aviation over the weekend of 1st and 2nd March with gates opening at 8AM daily and full flying program operating from 10AM to 3.30PM on both days.
The 2014 air show is a fabulous opportunity to see many of the long retired aircraft that have served Australia over the past 100 years and many of those that are our front line of defence today. Types on display will range from a replica BRISTOL BOXKITE, the first military aircraft flown in Australia at Point Cook on 1st March 1914 to the F/A18F SUPER HORNET, the WEDGETAIL Airborne Early Warning & Control aircraft, KC-30A Multi Role Tanker and Transport and the C-17A GLOBEMASTER transport.
Entry is $30 for adults, $10 for children aged 5 - 15, and $75 for a family (two adults, two children). Onsite parking costs $10 and can be paid for with the purchase of tickets.
Note – admission is by pre-paid ticket only. There will be no ticket sales at the gate.
Ticket price includes free train and bus travel for Metropolitan Zone 1 & 2 trains to Williams Landing and buses between the station and Point Cook.
Don't miss what promises to be a fabulous event on the Australian aviation calendar.
