Poets up Late
Are you a budding poet? Like to hear good poetry? Then make it down to Wynnum Library for one of their regular 'Poets up Late' evenings.
It's a chance to enjoy an entertaining evening with some local – and often guest – poets. There are a few nibbles afterwards and a chance to sign up on the night to recite in from of a small audience. This could be your own work or a reading from your favourite author.
The next line up on Thursday 27 March includes local poets Katherine Carter, Julia Bailey, John Parke and Keith Kennelly. John's poetry brings to life 150 years of the fishermen of Wynnum Creek on Moreton Bay. Readings commence at 6pm with the evening finishing around 7.30pm.
The poetry is performed within the library whilst open on its late night, and is located just around from the children's section. The 'Poets up Late' sessions have become a regular feature at Wynnum Library and a great way to enjoy local poets or get inspired yourself.
