When you're sitting amongst the gardens of Pialligo Plant Farm at Pod Food, it seems fitting that you might eat a flower or two. The stuffed zucchini flowers are off the specials menu, so they may not be available every day.
The flower was crispy and the filling added strong enough flavours to work well with the lightless of the zucchini. Small cherry tomatoes added a bit of sweetness, while the lemon mousse was heavily aerated meaning that it melted away on your tongue just leaving a light lemon flavour.
If the dish has one downfall it's that there's only one zucchini flower, especially because others on your table are likely to want a small try. A few mouthfuls and the flower is gone, and you find yourself wanting more. Perhaps it's just a well sized entree to make sure you leave room for your mains.
