More free things to do in Adelaide
The Victoria Square Redevelopment Has Activated the City Centre
Thanks to a new round of Splash Adelaide funding, a winter program is being held this year and Victoria Square will play host to the latest entertaining free event - Pocket for Adelaide kids and their families.
Pocket is a continuous show that runs each weekend from 12pm until 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday. It has 15 minute sessions of wonderful comedy and circus family entertainment throughout the afternoon. The program will change regularly but the line up for the first week on June 7-8 has been announced already:
The opening act will be The Mr. Spin Show, a fast paced circus act combining juggling stunts, Chinese devil sticking with baseball bats, diablo, vaudeville style trickery, and some eye popping magic.
Performer Louise Clarke presents Pandora Boxes, a side splittingly funny tribute to some of our truly great comedians, blended with a gravity defying 12 cigar-box trick that you will never be able to repeat at home.
There are times when I may have felt like Ruby Rubberlegs after a boozy night out, but I will never be able to repeat her feats of acrobatics. In a mind boggling challenge she squeezes her entire rubbery body through a mirror frame, and then contorts into a small see through box. Be confused. Be amazed. Or just be gobsmacked!
