Soul food and great ambiance
Strolling down Smith Street in Melbourne, but if you are looking for the sort of restaurant which combine great atmosphere, good tunes and finger licking dishes, you must try Po'Boy Quarter.

This eatery is hard to miss, with its loud Soul music playing, energetic staff and spicy meaty scents coming from their open kitchen - your five senses will be hooked!

The atmosphere is very comfortable and full of character; raw brick walls, industrial light fittings, timber benches and bar style seating, all make the perfect place to enjoy a bayou style dish.

The food is wholesome, full of taste and complex spice mixes. Unlike many American food joints, where lots of things are deep fried and super greasy, Po'Boy Quarter combines fresh vegetables, pickled delicacies, a variety of meats and of course fried food items (they are not swimming in fat though). Their dressings and sauces are perfectly balanced in taste and spice.

For those who are adventurous and like an extra kick of spice in their food, Po'Boy Quarter offers a large variety of spicy sauces.

Overall their food, atmosphere and service are all great value for money. Portions are perfect size and their home made ice tea is a good option for something a bit different and non alcoholic, although they do have a cocktail list.

So if you are feeling like a bit of Cajun spice, a wholesome Gumbo soup and traditional cornbread whilst enjoying good bayou tunes and friendly service, head to Po'Boy Quarter in Fitzroy.

Cajun food in Melbourne, is there anything we can't get here. We are truly spoilt.
