Poachers Pantry Unveils New Marquee Wedding Venue, Seats 200
I was fortunate to attend a Poachers Pantry Wedding Open Night on 22 October 2014. After being treated to some heavenly sparkles courtesy of the Wily Trout vineyard and delicious canapés in the Poachers Pantry tradition, I toured the brand new Poachers Pantry Marquee!

Poachers Pantry has long been a very popular wedding venue for Canberra couples looking to tie the knot in a rural setting. The arrival of the Poachers Pantry Marquee opens up completely new possibilities for the bride and groom. Poachers Pantry as a wedding destination is unique for its gorgeous rural setting only 35 minutes from the Canberra CBD.

After driving down the cathedral-like poplar avenue, I arrived at Poachers Pantry. I then passed through the rose arbour and was greeted by owner Susan Bruce, our host for the evening

We gathered under the majestic Golden Elm. As the evening sunlight glinted through the branches of the tree, it was easy to imagine a nervous groom waiting for his beautiful bride to make her entrance through the rose arbour.

We were treated to a range of Poachers Pantry canapés, examples of the high quality food locals have come to expect from the charcuterie. Two days later I can't stop thinking about the generously sized, oh so delicious, pulled-pork sliders. The Wily Trout sparkling wine added to the party atmosphere while mirroring the golden light tracing across the fields.

The Poachers Marquee seats up to 200 guests and is furnished with gorgeous drapes and fairy lights wafting from the ceiling. The rest is up to the imagination of the lucky couple. A number of Poachers Pantry's preferred suppliers had set up displays for the evening to provide inspiration.

Of course, the ever popular Poachers Pantry cafe remains available for couples wanting to take advantage of its rustic atmosphere. It caters for 100 guests for a seated dinner service (150 for a canapé party).
