Just outside of Canberra is a must visit spot for both food and wine lovers. Poachers Pantry is a cellar door, café, and shop, stocking wines, smoked meats, and other fine foods. Come for a quick try of some of their goods, or spend a bit longer enjoying the gorgeous surroundings.

Poachers Pantry is a charcuterie, and also a cellar door for Wily Trout wines. You'll get the chance to taste some Wily Trout and Fingerlings wine, while also sampling some of their delicious smoked meats. The meets are designed to be tasted with particular wines, and they all compliment each other nicely. The tastings are all free, and give you a good chance to sample some of the Poachers Pantry.

Once you've tried some of the meats, you must make the trip to the cool room. Here you can sort through hams, smoked chicken, smoked duck, regular and kangaroo prosciutto, amongst other things. In the store you'll be able to find plenty of things to compliment your smoked meats. Poachers Pantry stock jams, chutneys, dressings, pastas, and more. Everything is high quality, using some of the tastiest ingredients around.

The Smokehouse Café is only open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so make sure you come on one of these days if you want to enjoy it. Otherwise, you can also enjoy some of your own food on the grass outside. Purchase some meats and other tasty treats in the store, and then enjoy a picnic looking out over the grounds.

The beautiful cottage that hosts the pantry and café is also a popular spot to hire for functions. You can hire out the space for your wedding, or for your next function. There are catering packages available.

Poachers Pantry stocks great quality produce and wines, and has a beautiful setting to enjoy them in. Being only a short drive from Canberra it is an easy place to visit on the weekend, and while you're at it you might as well visit some of Canberra and New South Wales' other cold-climate vineyards.
