If you happen to need accommodation in Melbourne that is convenient, spacious and contemporary then you should look into Plum Serviced Apartments. These one, two or three bedroom apartments in Southbank are close to the Crown Casino, the Convention Centre, DFO, the Melbourne Aquarium, Etihad Stadium and plenty of great restaurants and bars. It is also conveniently located near a tram stop, making a trip to St Kilda a great option.
The contemporary design and location makes these a perfect location for business travellers, but the spacious apartments would also suit family groups. The full kitchen facilities would certainly meet the needs of families. I stayed in a group of 6 adults in a 3 bedroom apartment and there was room to move and relax. The dining area comfortably fit all of us and while there was only sufficient couch seating for four in the lounge area, there was adequate space in the room.
The rooms are furnished with contemporary designs and prints. The beds were comfortable with a good selection of pillows and cushions, and good quality linen. We had the option of single beds or queens, it isn't too often that hotels are that accommodating when you are looking for six singles. The 3 bedroom apartment had one ensuite, a full bathroom and a combined bathroom/laundry complete with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities.
One of the real highlights of these apartments is the huge, floor to ceiling windows in some of the apartments. We were on the 33rd floor and the rooms were bathed in natural light and the views of the city were absolutely stunning. It was quite relaxing in the early morning to sit and watch the city come to life.
I would certainly recommend the Plum Serviced Apartments and would stay there again if I was travelling with my family or for business.
