Picnic at the Pleasure Garden
Vaucluse House is one of Sydney's most stunning historical estates. A grand gothic style house with stables and outbuildings overlooking Sydney Harbour and surrounded by over 10 hectares of spectacular formal gardens and grounds.

The garden will be transformed into a magical place where you can relax and unwind while drifting away on the honeyed notes of elegant musical compositions. The garden will become a gentle interactive instrument where you can stroll through and play the garden or just sit back with a picnic and relax.

The music will be inspired by the story and music of the 17th-century musician, composer Jacob van Eyck. Pleasure Garden combines excerpts from his work, set within newly composed music by Virtuoso Genevieve Lacey and Jan Bang, in collaboration with Jim Atkins, Robin Fox, Pete Brundle and Sera Davies.

Rediscover Vaucluse House and drift back to a bygone era.

Pleasure Garden opens 7 - 26 January 8am - 8pm.
Performance at dawn 9 January by Genevieve Lacey is free (no bookings required)
Tactile Tour - 9.30am, 9 January (Bookings required)
