Located on Allara Street in Canberra CBD, Playing Fields Cafe is where you can enjoy a good range of brunch and cafe-style dishes. In addition to its main menu, the cafe offers sandwiches and pastries for those looking for a quick eat.

The bacon and sausages in the Big Breaky were cooked just right and had a good amount of smoky flavour. The hash brown was light and fluffy and fried to golden brown, and the eggs we had scrambled were not overcooked. Completing the dish were baked beans, mushrooms, a grilled tomato and a slice of sourdough toast. Balsamic vinegar was drizzled over the tomato to add extra flavour.

The Pancakes served here were of the thicker variety. The texture was not too dense. The slightly tart blueberries, strawberries and blackberries complemented the bananas and peaches nicely. Topping the pancakes was a scoop of vanilla ice cream that was a good partner to the other components of the dish.

The decor of the cafe had a relaxed and cozy feel. Customers have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Its location makes it a convenient spot for office workers looking for a meal before heading for work.
