Explore the exciting new playground at this popular park
Raby Bay Esplanade Park with its great facilities and little sandy beach has long been a favourite destination for Redlands and Brisbane families. From 1 July 2020, it is even more fun for families thanks to the opening of this brand new playground.
The exciting new playground at Raby Bay Esplanade Park
The playground features a huge tower that overlooks the surrounding parklands and koala trees, with two super-tube style slides coming down from it. The first exits the tower half-way up, while the second allows older, more adventurous children to slide all the way down from the top.
The playground centres around this amazing new tower
There are multiple climbing options at the bottom of the tower, including climbing ropes and a set of steps. Although the playground is mostly set upon a huge sandpit, the slides exit onto a soft-fall surface.
The tower offers a diverse range of challenges for children of varying ages
No playground would be complete without a set of swings, a fact that wasn't overlooked by the designers of this new playground. There is a swing for children to go on alone, and a larger, net swing that can take a small group, or a parent and child together.
In the past, visits to Raby Bay Esplanade Park were limited by the lack of toilet facilities. However, there is a new toilet block under construction, and due to open before the end of July 2020. Some new areas of turf around the playground are currently cordoned off to promote growth, but will reopen by then as well.
Picnic tables, and BBQs near to the beach, make Raby Bay Esplanade Park an ideal family destination
