As a mum of two, wherever we go, I always look for children's entertainment facilities. Free facilities sometimes will be handy, such as a playground or park. When we were staying at Hotel Rydges Palmerston Darwin, I checked a local city council website to find a park or playground nearby, but we couldn't find anything near. Then when we did our morning walk around the hotel, we stumbled with this small fully fenced playground. Maybe only locals that know about this little gem.
Picnic tables under the shade were placed at the front gate of this playground. Compact play equipment was in the middle of the playground. Slippery dip and climbing frames are some of the play equipment that can be enjoyed here.
But what I like about this playground is the beautiful green garden area which surrounds it. It also has some big stones which became stepping stones for my two children. On the side of the playground, there is a small grassy area, perfect for a runaround or to kick a ball.
I couldn't see any public toilet nearby. You can go to this playground with your bike as there is nice wide footpath around and there is a bike rack you can use at the front of the playground. Please keep your footwear on as there is only rough sand on the ground.
