Playground Karaoke Cafe

Still on the search for family friendly indoor alternatives, we tried Playground Karaoke on a Saturday afternoon. The deal at this particular time of day was $50 for 1 hour, which included $50 worth of food. We opted for a $45 sushi platter, which took a long while to come and was disappointing and a stark contrast to the one pictured in the menu. Nonetheless it was edible.

Navigating through the karaoke system was the biggest challenge, eventually we found English language songs under "occidental' language, but by the time we worked it all out, it was almost time to go.

The experience was a bit below average and with the added drinks etc it ended up costing close to $100, which would have been better spent in a decent Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere was a little seedy and the complex is in fact underground and more like the kind of place you would want to end up at 4am, when nothing else is open and you still want to party. I did spot $20 scotch and coke jugs on the menu, which would be great for one of those nights.
