We saw this playground on the way in to Coober Pedy. Located on 71 Hutchison Street the first thing that caught my eye was the big tyres at the front of this playground. Probably those tyres were from big machinery working around the opal mines in Coober Pedy.
Big tyres welcomed you at the front of the playground
This playground was separated into two section and both of them were fully fenced with sand on the ground. One section is for little children with play equipment such as a see-saw, swings, climbing frames and a lot more. But the hit was the miniature digger placed at the back end. Another section is more for big children with a greater difficulty factor for its play equipment.
Out from the playground fence is some outdoor gym equipment and an undercover seating area. There is also a public toilet nearby. On the other side of the playground there is a skate board park. Not far from this playground you can see the very colorful Youth Shed. I think it is a complex for children and youth, locals or passersby, to have fun and burn up their extra energy.
