The Playful Pop-up Art Exhibition: StartledArt is the first exhibition by StartledArt, a new, fully curated website that sells artworks by emerging Australian artists. The exhibition will take place from Thursday November 8 to Wednesday November 28 at The Space in Manly, with the bar displaying A3 sized art by up-and-coming artists from around the country, all with a 'playful' theme.
StartledArt was founded by Lena Peacock, who also works as the site's Artistic Director. It ensures customers don't have to trawl through substandard work to find artistic treasures and keeps everything it sells under $1000. Peacock's aim is to make art more accessible and affordable.
The Playful Pop-up Art Exhibition: StartledArt will continue the website's attempt to break down the walls of the gallery space and also allow new audiences to view StartledArt's works. All artworks in the exhibition will be on sale at its curated online art gallery, but at The Space visitors will have an opportunity to view them up close.
Among the artworks at the exhibition will be interactive pieces, such as one comprising entirely of coloured post-it notes. Guests will be encouraged to take a post-it note home and leave another in its place. It's all part of the fun and youthful atmosphere of the exhibition. Other works will all be just as unique, fun and whimsical.
The opening night of the Playful Pop-up Art Exhibition: StartledArt will take place on Thursday November 8, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. If you would like to stop by, you can even confirm your attendance on the Facebook invite.
This exhibition is just the first from StartledArt. Keep an eye out for future events on the StartledArt website.
Hmmmm. That's no good. I've doubled checked the location and everything from the exhibition site to The Space website says '7 Market Lane Manly'. I haven't been there myself but a quick look at Google Maps seems to suggest Market Lane is about four different roads that are all connected. Very confusing. I'm sorry you didn't find it, but thanks for the warning.
