This gloomy wet Saturday, I headed to Sydney's Royal Botanic Garden for a Macro photography workshop.

The train ride saw no rain but when I stepped out of Town Hall station in the rain and was annoyed because I wasn't really prepared for rain and thought the event would be cancelled.

I strolled the 20 minutes to The Calyx and to my surprise when I entered, the actual building there was a café and there was an exhibition on carnivore plants undercover.

I was soon to learn this was where we would be photographing.

The room was full of light and green and pinky/red plants. Signs were everywhere advising you not to touch the plants. The plants were actually beautiful.

Amongst the photographers in the room, there was a section cornered off for high tea and a discovery area.

I must admit I was very surprised that the Calyx was indoor but amazed at the exhibition of plants.
