I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Live The High Life
The Plantation Resort at Rainbow Beach was a dream come after a challenging day cycling 75 kms into a head wind from Gympie. The luxurious beachfront accommodation was our base for two nights during our recent Cycle QLD adventure.
The heated pool and spa area were appreciated after we checked in and showered off the road grime. The self contained apartments are very spacious and contain everything necessary for a much longer break. Each room had an open plan feel with a TV in the main bedroom as well as the lounge, ample room for luggage, a well appointed kitchen, spa bath and laundry facilities. Wi-Fi is provided free as are 12 Foxtel channels Large glass doors opened onto a veranda that faced the ocean and a clever louvre system provided privacy from the street below. Comfortable furniture and a BBQ were on the front veranda.
The resort contains 31 rooms on three levels, the top level have a rooftop sun terrace and the ground floor units have a small garden courtyard but we were more than happy with our first floor ocean view room. All the rooms have a private feel and are accessed by elevated walkways amongst gardens and palms, there is also a lift to the higher levels. Room costs vary depending on the size and position of the apartment as well as the length of stay and the time of year but they are good value for money.
The reception area had DVDs to hire for a small donation as well as helpful staff to assist with travel advice. There is an undercover security carpark not that you would need to use a car whilst here due to the convenient location. The natural delights of Rainbow Beach, the Surf Club, shops, cafes and the hotel are adjacent.
If you are planning on staying in the area of Rainbow Beach check in to The Plantation Resort.
