Matt Coulter, the Curator of Plant Propagation at Botanic Gardens of South Australia will be conducting a hands-on Masterclass on propagation of your own plants on Thursday 26 April 2018 from 10am – 3pm at Mount Lofty Botanic Garden Nursery. Matt is best known for his propagation of Amorphophallus titanium, which is also known as a corpse flower, or corpse plant due to its odour. Additional sessions will be held on Sunday 6 May 2018 and Sunday 23/9/2018 at the same place and time, if you can't make it to the session in April.

This course is open to everyone and is an ideal class for rare plant collectors, horticulture students and gardeners who want to meet the challenge of propagating their own plants. Participants must wear closed shoes and bring their own sharpened secateurs and gloves as the class will involve practical activities.

The timeline of the comprehensive program is listed below.

09.45am – Registration and coffee

10.00am – Welcome, Masterclass outline

10.10am – Nursery tour, seed sowing and propagation

12.30pm – Lunch (provided), cutting propagation and division propagation

03.00pm – End of Masterclass

Participants get to take home the plant and propagation materials they have generated during the class.
