I enjoy showcasing what's on offer in the plant-based and vegan space. To give the event greater exposure, you can click 'LIKE' at the end of the article.
Many Australians are choosing to cut down on, or completely eliminate, their meat and dairy intakes, with Australia being the third-fastest growing vegan market in the world. Dr Mackay (GP/Nutritionist) & Jenny Cameron (Nutritionist), of Plant Based Health Australia, are helping those wanting to make the change. They will be holding their next Plant Based Healthy Lifestyle Immersion Retreat in the idyllic seaside town of Anglesea, Victoria, in September 2019.
Healthy and delicious whole food plant-based meals will be prepared by Anita Rickey from Diggers Vegie Kitchen. There will also be cooking demonstrations, yoga, meditation, films and educational seminars. Being by the sea, there will free time to relax, breathe in the fresh sea air and go for nature walks.
There is a fair bit included in the overall retreat package:
5 night's accommodation at the Great Ocean Road Resort in Anglesea
Delicious whole food plant-based meals from Sunday night through to Friday lunch (special dietary needs can be catered for)
Medical supervision (for those who need it)
Plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine education sessions with a nutritionist and medical doctor
Cooking demonstrations, a shopping tour
Meditation and yoga classes
Movies, beach walks and other activities
Resort facilities include a heated indoor pool and gymnasium, free wi-fi
Supportive, small group interaction (maximum of 16 places)
This retreat would be suitable for people who want to improve their overall health and well-being, to look and feel better, lose weight, have more energy and sleep better. They will learn how to best avoid developing 'lifestyle diseases': heart disease, diabetes, cancer and autoimmune diseases.*
With medical supervision at hand, it is also suitable for those with a current chronic disease that can be improved with lifestyle changes, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease or an autoimmune disease
If you are after a soothing holiday near the sea, and enjoy having healthy and delicious meals prepared for you, this retreat is worth considering. You will also meet other like-minded people who are passionate about improving their health, and who can support you on your journey towards health.
