There are so many pizza places in Melbourne; we are literally spoiled for choice. Although quantity doesn't always mean quality, as I have been burned before. I recently moved to Hawthorn and found Pizzeria De Oz opposite the Supa IGA on the corner of Burwood Rd and Power St.
First of, the website is very user friendly and what really impressed me was that there was an option for vegan pizza, which was great because I had my vegan friend over.
They have quite a few specials and deals going all the time. Their selection of pizzas is pretty good - with around 30 to choose from and also some calzones, sides and desserts.
They do deliver but I chose to pick up the pizzas at the shop where you can see them making the pizzas. The pizzas were very tasty but unfortunately they did muddle up our order, putting the vegan cheese on the non-vegan pizza and vice-versa. It was the only blemish on an otherwise good experience, although quite a fundamental error.
Despite that, the pizzas were crunchy and tasty (even the vegan one). I have gone back again with better results.
The prices are reasonable with a large traditional pizza costing $14.30, a medium $11.30 and a small $9.30.
In summary, if you live in the area and looking for a good pizza place, I recommend Pizza De Oz, where ordering is a pizza pie (sorry).
