Pizza on Patterson is another addition to the Patterson Rd strip in recent years that, alongside Caffe Crema, Patterson Organics and Co., has presided over the revitalization of the strip.
Though only open for a couple of years now, it has fast become a mainstay for a late night option in the local Bentleigh area, with the outdoor seating often filled on a Friday or Saturday night by someone either there for a quick meal before catching the train, or to stay and eat exclusively.
The menu features both familiar favourites and original offerings
Concerning the menu, POP offers a wide selection of pizzas. There are the traditional toppings, such as the Hawaiian, Mexican and Supreme. Beyond this though is where Patterson offers a change up. First, there is the 'Bolognese' - which, though the name reveals all secrets about its contents, is still is a fun option, being comprised of spaghetti and pasta sauce on a pizza base. Then, there is the 'Volcano'. This option promises to deliver ham, hot salami, onion, peppers and chilli to anyone keen to add some spice to their Saturday night. For those more timid, there is the 'Patterson Special', which is mild salami, onions, mushrooms and peppers.
Alongside pizza, the restaurant also offers hamburgers, souvlaki, and more. Therefore, if you're with a couple of friends, and with perhaps not everyone keen on pizza then and there, this restaurant provides the opportunity to serve as a 'one stop shop' to cater to all tastes and preferences.
In this way, and with the Patterson Rd strip still developing when it comes to late night options, many locals will appreciate the variety on offer.
