Pitstop Playground

Start your engines and zoom on down to the on the corner of Grandis Boulevard and Botanic Avenue in the far northern suburb of Banksia Grove.
This park is unlike any other and has a motor racing theme complete with start and finish posts, road signs and pitstops. The safe softfall race track winds itself around flat valleys and large mounds for even more driving pleasure.
At the pitstop kids can pretend to check their vehicle (most were using scooters and bikes) for air, oil and fuel and they can also bring pieces of chalk and race their friends and keep a tally on the chalkboards provided.
Some mounds have ropes attached for the kids to pull themselves up with, while others have to be climbed. When they reach the top there are two bumpy and twisty slides for them to slide down on.
Atop another mound is a challenging net bridge for the more daring junior car enthusiasts. This net bridge is raised and the surface below is sand so some of the younger ones may be hesitant to attempt this activity.
For the ultra-daring, the playground also has a fairly high net climb with two platforms on the way up to the peak. There is also a set of swings and a see saw for those who prefer the calmer and more traditional play equipment.
Running alongside the playground is a bubbling fountain that feeds a creek which meanders all the way down to the road.
There are small patches of grass where parents can lay down a picnic rug and there are also a few benches which are under shelter and a BBQ and a picnic bench can be found at the entrance of the park
The main downfalls of this playground is that there is no parking apart from street parking and it has no toilets. However this didn't stop my kids from wanting to stay here for hours on end.
It's definitely a unique playground that your kids will love.
