Pitch Perfect - Film Review

Anna Kendrick does not want to be at College – she wants to be in the world of musical theatre. She does a deal with her father – she will successfully complete a year at College, and have been active in at least one College society.

A chance encounter while singing in the shower (this is a hilarious and unusual audition) leads to her becoming part of a competent but hide-bound all female a capella group, determined to win the national competition.

Aubrey (Anna Camp) plays the uber-controlling leader of the group, whose nerves makes her inclined to vomit at inappropriate moments. You have been warned. Rebel Wilson, keeping her Australian accent, vamps the part of Fat Amy.

There are no prizes for seeing where all this is going.

But, as with Glee, high energy, brilliant choreography and over the top comedy help the film survive its predictability.

Anna Karenina" it aint, but if you like "Glee" you will love "Pitch Perfect".
