As the artwork says "A Perfect Place for a Picnic" and indeed it is!

There are BBQs and tables for the organised and expanses of grass for those that want to lie on a rug or kick a footy.

For the kids, there is a massive playground, including a sandpit with a digger and a water course (so bring spare clothes).

The favourite, however, is the beat the heat water spray fountain, that provides endless entertainment - remember I said to bring spare clothes?! Amazing how you can 'accidently run into the water spray ...

There's plenty of art around for the adults, and a cafe for the lazy or caffeine deprived.

The park uses solar panels and captures rainwater, as well as the surrounding walls consisting of some of the first sandstone quarried in Sydney. The other side of the park is the foreshore, so the views are gorgeous.

Parts of the park allow dogs on leashes, there are also sections for dogs off the leash and cycleways are also clearly marked on signs around the park - look for the brown map signs.
So with this glorious sunshine now that Spring is here, there's no excuse! The playground art says it all:
