Running from 10am to 10pm on Sat 15 and Sun 16 September 2018, the Pirates of Port Adelaide Festival are taking matters into their own hands and calling all pirates from near and far, young and old, scurvy and scarred for an invasion of Port Adelaide. Celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day, this two-day festival will capture the imagination of all ages as it gets shipshape for an onslaught. If you'd like to join the crew at the Captain's Table to Work Like a Captain, Parrty Like a Pirate! beforehand, come in your best pirate costume or you'll be sent to Davy Jones' locker. Catch a performance and feast on bottomless chowder and pirate platters on Friday 14 September 2018 from 6.30-9.30pm at the Flour Shed, Hart's Mill Precinct, Mundy St, Port Adelaide. It's not often a whole city gets involved in 'make-believe' to foster healthy imaginations but it does for one Festival weekend in September, so be sure to be a part of something truly fantastical! Grab your tickets for the Pirates on Deck event on Saturday 15 Sep from 12.30-3.30pm on the STV One and All tall ship, on water adjacent to Harts Mill. It's the best vantage point to view all Pirate Games on-water action, and has a freshly prepared spread of food, tea, coffee and cool drinks to greet you.
The Port Adelaide Pirates of Penzance will perform on the same day (15 Sep) from 11am to 12pm at the old Flour Mill Packing Shed on Mundy St, Port Adelaide, as part of the festival's opening night. Get your tickets to this much loved show performed in an hour with an amazing local cast of 8 with piano accompaniment.
Harrt's Mill Mess Hall, Pirate Alley, Little Pirate's corner and Pirate my ride will be open all weekend from 10am to 5pm at Flour Shed Mundy Street. Quench your thirst with Big Shed Brewing Concern and feed your hunger from local food suppliers located in the Pirate Hub. Find your treasure at Pirate Alley markets and enjoy free entertainment with free pirate colouring in and photo booth at the 'Corner'. Pirate my ride will transform your little kids vehicle into a pirate ship, so they too can make like a real pirate!
Don't forget to collect your treasure map when you arrive at the Pirate Hub on Mundy St, or the Visitor Info Centre on 66 Commercial Rd. It has 15 plus destinations of hidden treasures, so collect the stamps and solve the clues to be in the running to win an Aye-Pad and lots o'booty! From free kids activities, dragon boating, kayaking, pirate ship open day to grabbing a snag at the Defence Shed, there's stuff-a-plenty to do!
The 'After Dark' events for the older pirates at the Michonne Wine Bar on 229 St Vincent St is the best pirate grub in port be at, along with a skullduggery rock band. Best dressed pirates get yer'booty in Michonne treasure!. Lighthouse Wharf Hotel - Front Bar, 1 Commercial Road will have a swashbuckling range of spiced rum cocktails and pirate inspired pub-grub throughout the festival weekend, so grab yourselves some fun.
