Nestled next to the historic Hampden Bridge and the tranquil Kangaroo River, the Pioneer Village Museum can be found.

Sitting on 1 hectare (2.47 acres), this family-friendly and spectacular attraction in the Valley is home to several building house exhibits from the period, donated by descendants of the original settlers of the Valley.

The attractions are endless, from exploring the museum and its exhibits to enjoying a picnic under the trees at the barbecue and picnic areas to enjoy the region's serenity on a marked scenic bushwalk that sits on 7 hectares of natural native bushland.

The museum showcases what life was like back in the 1800s as you step back in time with original buildings, beautiful gardens, historical exhibits, displays and photographs, early settlers hut, pioneering farm equipment, and more.

The exhibits and displays demonstrate how early Australian settlers and pioneers lived, worked and played during the 19th and 20th centuries. Some displays include the dairy, forge, schoolhouse, settler's cottage, Archie Chittick Museum, War Remembrance room and much more.

The museum also houses original artifacts and displays, including several original and recreated buildings, with all the buildings being either relocated or built on the site, replicating original construction techniques from the pioneering years.

Most of the exhibits feature an audiovisual display that showcases how traditional equipment and machinery were used.

The audiovisual displays also tell true stories of how life was during that era.
