Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you... if you're young at heart...

Harkening back to the original fable from Italian author Carlo Collodi, the West Australian Ballet presents a bold and colourful new interpretation on the children's classic of a mischievous puppet who eventually earns the chance to become a real boy.

With entertaining and robust choreography by artistic director Ivan Cavallari, supported by a magnificent score created by feature film composer Enrico Melozzi, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra will provide a witty soundscape for the dancers of the WA Ballet to weave an enchanting tale sure to captivate and delight all ages.

The story will follow the daring and at times impish wooden creation as he sets out on an adventurous journey where he meets a wily fox and crafty cat; falls into a carnival world where careless boys transform into braying donkeys; and is later gulped down by a whale of a shark. Through great courage and a selfless act, Pinocchio earns the opportunity to become a real boy.

Pre-performance talks will be held on the evenings of the 18th and 25th, and Bankwest Family Twilight performances on the 18th, 25th and 26th of September; so bring the little 'uns and be part of the WA Ballet's world premiere season of this innovative and enthralling production of Pinocchio.
