can be found in a little town north of Perth called Cervantes. It is far enough outside of Perth to give you a good break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet close enough if you find the need to return sooner that you want to.




The beauty about is that it is secluded and pretty much right next to the beach. We were fortunate enough to have a camp site about 30 meters from the beach, which meant a walk in the morning only required a roll out of the sleeping bag, pull on some boots and we are ready to "rock and roll". Although this weekend presented some VERY cold mornings – so a walk in the morning was needed just to warm up!


There are three bathrooms, two kitchens and one laundry. If you forget to bring the kitchen sink, then you can choose from an array of outdoor BBQ's for a quite relaxing evening meal. All amenities are cleaned daily.

We decided to book a weekend on the same weekend that every other person decided to book. The was packed, with every nook and cranny filled with either a tent or a motor home/caravan. I guess this is why camping is so interesting! You get to meet all sorts of people from all sorts of locations. Strangely enough, our little camp section comprised mostly of cyclists, which really made my weekend (for those that know me - I am an avid cyclist).

has a wonderful café on site called the Seashell Café which is perfect for those not really wanting to bring everything and kitchen sink. They are open for breakfast and lunch from 8am to 4pm. There is nothing better than a great cup of coffee on a cold frisky morning!


If you enjoy camping and have never been to the , I would highly recommend this venue for your list of places to experience. Apart from the great service and awesome location, Cervantes itself is known for its fishing and its beautiful beaches which are great for swimming.
