Grampians National Park is a great tourist destination for camping, climbing, scenic drives, bushwalks and nature study. Cradled at 21 Heath St, Halls Gap, Pinnacle Holiday Lodge provided us refuge for 3 days on our last trip to the Grampians National Park in January. It was simply a delightful experience.
The first thing I noticed about this place was the fact that the staff were professional, friendly and efficient. The reception area was in a separate building where one or more of the staffs were always present with a smile, a recommendation or a solution. We were immediately made comfortable on our arrival. And upon receiving our keys we headed towards our unit which appeared part of a big house with a row of units. We were able to park right in front of our unit.
Pinnacle Holiday Lodge is situated on four hectares of beautifully landscaped native gardens. The massive sprawling estate boasted a bbq area, a tennis court, playground for children and more. Wildlife seemed to have a lively presence as upon our arrival we immediately sighted a whole family of kangaroos grazing on the lush grass oblivious to human presence.
Deluxe Spa Motel Unit As we stepped inside our deluxe spa motel unit, impressive is the word that immediately popped into my head. Our studio like suite was part of an old house which had been elegantly renovated to deliver a deluxe experience. Very unlike any typical studio apartment, this unit was spacious. The décor was minimalist yet welcoming in an uncluttered way.
The king size bed with the thick and comfortable mattress was simply wonderful. The seemingly endless supply of pillows ensured that there were enough pillows to support my head, torso and legs. The extra blankets could easily be used for a toasty warm bed. A flat screen TV occupied the space right across from the bed aiding in viewing TV from the comfort of the bed. Some feet away from the TV was a gas log fireplace which would be an ideal companion for wintry days but since we had gone during summer we had no need to use it. There was even a split system heating and cooling system mounted on the wall.
We sagged on the big couches. It is no wonder that these comfy couches were a big hit with us. The large, oval spa was a personal favourite. The luxurious spa was designed to accommodate two adults and was definitely worth a soak. I added a bit of bath salt and just sat back in the spa with a glass of wine and a book. Pure bliss! The spa ensured our stay was most relaxing and comfortable. And did I mention it was absolutely romantic!
We found a huge window at the back of the unit which was overlooking the hills and the trees. An unhindered view of the hills was bestowed upon us filling us with awe and delight. There was a small kitchenette next to the window. The compact and modest kitchenette had provisions for coffee, tea, cookies, an electronic kettle, toaster, some glass and plates and a small fridge.
There was a decent sized bathroom attached to the unit. Small packets of shampoo and conditioner as well as bath oil were neatly arranged next to a bunch of soft towels on the shelf outside the bathroom. An attention to detail to guarantee a peaceful and comfortable stay was prevalent everywhere. And as the icing on the cake, we found out that the unit was serviced daily.
Now let's talk about location! Pinnacle Holiday Lodge is located in the hub of the tourist village Halls Gap meaning a wide array of eateries is only minutes away. Furthermore, Pinnacle is situated close to numerous hiking trails including a number of hills, waterfalls and Aboriginal rock art sites.
Pinnacle Holiday Lodge offers self-contained 1 or 2 bedroom units to accommodate small to large families and deluxe and executive spa motel units for a more intimate setting. There is even an indoor heated pool. Accommodation is available from $97 per night. For our deluxe unit we paid $190 per night which was certainly worth every cent.
During our stay we found that wifi was not available in our unit and there were no dvds. But since we already had internet in our phones and did not spend too much time watching TV these trivial issues had no impact on us. Overall, we were enthralled by the facilities, services and the close proximity to all the eateries and tourist hotspots. I am very happy to recommend this place and will certainly return.
