I am still oozing with adrenaline hours after the Pink Concert which I went to see last night. The concert at the Perth Arena was her first in the 11 week, 46 show 'Truth About Love' 2013 Australian Tour. Pink had the audience captivated from beginning to end.
Pink is the ultimate entertainer and her show has it all. She tirelessly bounds around the stage from one end to another, then can be seen suspended from high above the audience, then lowered back down to dance up a storm with her very athletic looking back up dancers – all the while not missing a note and singing 20 songs from her past 6 albums.
All her songs are performed with endless energy as she carries out her aerial acrobatic stunts which are an amazing visual feast. Pink was in the air about five times throughout the evening. The highlight was her being suspended in an egg like structure that swirled around while Pink effortlessly and artistically moved herself inside and outside of it while singing her heart out.
The multi level stage set with futuristic built in screens was amazing to look at. This combined with the well timed pyrotechnic flashes and the hidden stage doors in, around and below the stage allowed Pink and her entourage to mysteriously enter and exit the stage making it even more exciting to watch.
Pink, the likeable rock star, also took time to casually chat to the audience between songs and give them anecdotal glimpses into her life. She showed she's human by singing new songs while holding a piece of paper in her hand so she could read the words if she got stuck. Any other artist would be crucified for being unprofessional on stage, but this allowed the sympathetic audience to grow even closer to Pink as a real person and not just as an untouchable entertainer.
I could watch the finale over and over and not get bored of it. Harnessed up Pink soars through the crowd, spinning and spiralling and singing, in a final thank you to fans. It is a must see.
Do yourself a favour and don't miss this once in a lifetime chance to watch this class act perform. If there is one live show you have to see in your life it has to be P!NK.
