Melburnians love their high tea, but I have found you a secret little spot that does high tea with a difference. As well as English classic high tea, at Pinki Pinki you can choose a unique Fusion Asian high tea.

In the true style of an elegant Tea House, Pinki Pinki is more than just a cafe that serves high tea, it is a tea lover's haven and more of an experience than a cafe. The owner, Cindy, is passionate about all things related to tea and has created her own herbal and black tea blends which are delicate and elegant.

Cindy's father operates a hotel in China and sparked a lifelong interest in her for tea. Originally Cindy wanted to open just a tea salon but quickly realised that people wanted food to have with their tea and introduced a small selection of delights along with her now famous high tea.

Cindy's food is some of the freshest I have ever tasted and melts in the mouth. The miniature pumpkin pies are absolutely adorable to look at and taste as good as they look. You can choose the high tea for two at $20 a head in either the English version or for something different, you can also choose Chinese high tea which is served on beautiful wooden Chinese towers.

Pinki Pinki is right on the edge of Hawthorn and Camberwell - a couple of minutes away from the Camberwell markets and the moment you arrive, you will know you are in for a relaxing treat.

Pair this with a lovely herbal tea or a black tea infusion. We tried a few of the teas - the Earl Grey tea is lovely for black tea drinkers as it is blended with dried citrus giving it that elegant tang earl grey tea drinkers love.

Although Pinki Pinki is a relatively small venue they can also accommodate group bookings for parties, mother's clubs or just lovely get-togethers, however, it is well advised to make a booking to avoid missing out on a table.

Pinki Pinki is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day of the week except Monday when they are closed. They stock their own brand of tea which you can also purchase in take home packs to take your high tea experience home with you.

Cindy is wanting to branch out in the future and maybe offering some very special events including tea tasting evenings and possibly tea leaf reading evenings. To stay up-to-date you can join her mailing list and she also has a membership which is free to join and will give you discounts on having high tea with her at Pinki Pinki.

Pinki Pinki is located at 380 Riversdale Road Hawthorn.
