It's that day of the year again where we can show our support and unity in raising awareness about breast and gynaecological cancer – which are the leading cause of death amongst women. It's also the day where we can help Cancer Council in raising the much needed funds for their on-going research in finding a cure, as well as prevention programs such as early detection and support programs for patients.

So how can we lend a hand to Cancer Council for them to carry on with their programs? To start off, wear a pink shirt on October 28 which is the official Pink Ribbon day to display our support to women who are battling with the disease. You can also get involved by purchasing the exclusive Pink Ribbon day merchandise or be a volunteer to help out in selling them at stalls in various locations.

Also, do you know that hosting your own party is another way of partaking in this event? There are different types of events listed on the fundraising page that you can organise and information on how to successfully host them but if you got other party ideas in mind, you can do so. Feel free to be creative in hosting your own shindig.

If you love your cupcakes and bikkies, you can host a get-together with a group of girlfriends over an afternoon tea. It doesn't need to be a fancy setting. You can do it at the comfort of your own home, even if it's means a tight squeeze for everyone but hey, it brings you closer together. Not to mention the tons of fun and laughter you're going to have with all those girly conversations. See the smile on everyone's faces?

Just remember to register your social gathering on the website as one of your fundraising events and order your pink goodies.

The goal is to raise as much funds as we can, and at the same time having a good time with the people we care. Our participation on this one special day means saving the precious lives of every single woman. Let's start saving lives so let's get the party started.
