One Peppermint Grove resident is blending her two passions; vintage fashion and women's health.

Rebecca Barlow is currently a student midwife who, when she's not spending 14 hours in a delivery suite with an expectant mother, is taking vintage and handmade clothing to the market loving masses throughout the state.

Pink Ginger is a new concept: a mobile op shop including her handmade clothing that travels to businesses, markets, and also peoples' homes. The loveliest part? Part of all the proceeds go to women's health charities. "Presently I travel with all my goodies packed in my car, unpack it all, then repack again" Rebecca says.

"I'm raising funds to purchase a small trailer or caravan along with a website to make the purchasing process easier for everyone." Pink Ginger will be popping up at local businesses, cafes, markets, parks, or can be invited to events such as a fundraiser or social gathering. The idea is perfect for full-time workers who miss out on op shop adventures during business hours or individuals who can have Pink Ginger come to their home and mix women, wine and a fantastic op shopping afternoon.

"There are many charities I am hoping to make an impact on," reports Rebecca, "those supporting Indigenous health, promoting women's rights and equality, support for survivors of domestic violence, teen pregnancy, access to education and refugee women and families."

"Because I understand how passionate people can be about the social change they'd like to see, when an individual books Pink Ginger to attend their event, they can choose the charity the funds are donated to."

Rebecca and her two boys will be taking Pink Ginger on a huge road trip from Perth to Melbourne this coming October. They'll raise money on route while Rebecca travels to attend CATSINaM (Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives) International Indigenous Health Conference.
