A Melbournian who wonders as I wander. I have spent a lot of life colouring in moments and take great pleasure in creative expression of experience. Interested in Design, Art, Film, Photography, Painting and all things French.
Millions of events advertise themselves as spectacular; it is a popular description. If you want a ticket to something truly worthy of the word, hop online as fast as you might pull your fingers from a flame and you might not be too late to see Pink. For something to fulfil the criteria of spectacular it needs to create that psychologically irresistible mania that only comes with complete belief that this is a rare lifetime opportunity that will affect more than one sense.
Pink has come to Melbourne on sold out tours on just two other occasions in which she pushed the boundaries of what you would expect at a pop concert merging her mellow and emotion-pulling style with circus arts, theatre and dance.
Currently she is in Perth but she will be coming to Melbourne for concerts at the Rod Laver Arena from the 16th of July to the 29th of August.
Pink has a charisma that informs you she has entered the building. The energy changes and time from that moment just whirls around your head. You leave one of her concerts with your mind spinning with colour and emotionally jagged. Her songs draw their power from relating to so many diverse people's experiences of love, isolation, loss and laughter. Her integrity, acerbic humour and strong political opinions stretch the definition of spectacular (which generally extends only so far as performance) so that the crowd feels a sense of connection amidst the electricity of the music.
If you cannot get a ticket in Melbourne it would be worth a flight. The Perth allocation is exhausted.
Usually I just want to run away from Melbourne in winter. It makes me depressed and grumpy and restless. I spend my nights looking up flights to anywhere but here. Pink coming to Melbourne has made this July fly easily and even mildly past. Instead of drack, every day leading up has been spectacular in anticipation.
Tickets will sell out like ice on an open flame.
