Held at the historic Edenvale Precinct in Pinjarra (opposite Pioneer Memorial Park), the Pinjarra Festival, held on the Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of June, has lots in store for those wishing to check out this picturesque town, 90 kilometres south of Perth.
This year's festival features over 100 stalls. Seldom Scene Women's Clothes and Accessories, Clare Sharp the knitting lady who makes colourful, gorgeous scarves and shawls as well as Dark Winter, whose hand drawn art is heat-pressed onto t-shirts, coasters, mugs and caps (you decide!) will be there. Air-Born Amusements, will also be there with their bouncy castles for the kids. Showbags, rides and live music throughout the two day event, the Pinjarra Festival has all bases covered.
With something for everyone Junkadelic - a collective of music-makers who rein visage 'junk' to make musical instruments will be performing their unique edu-tainment funk on the main stage and facilitating percussion making workshops for the kids.
For those of you who enjoy gardening, The Great Gardens team who educate the public on how to create more sustainable gardens and environments ( you may have heard Chris Ferreira from the Great Gardens Team on ABC 720 Morning Breakfast show) will be giving live demonstrations; 'From Plant to Plate" and "From Sand to Soil". Plus there is a competition running - be in the draw to win an overnight package staying at your choice of ultimate Murray getaways.
Whilst at the festival don't forget to check out teethe Edenvale Homestead and Heritage Tea-Rooms - they are well worth a visit. The tea-rooms make a great sandwich or why not try one of their famous Devonshire Teas. For history buffs Edenvale homestead is well over a hundred years old and once housed former Premier of Western Australia Sir Ross McLarty and his family. Both a located is the Edenvale Precinct where most of the action takes place.
The Pinjarra Festival, is a wonderful way to the day. Great for the kids and plenty for the adults, soak in the history of Edenvale Precinct and enjoy all the festival has to offer.
