You can step back in time at the annual Pine Creek Goldrush weekend. Go panning for an elusive gold nugget and spend your evening dancing under the starry sky. I bet you can't resist.

So head to Pine Creek on 26th and 27th June 2015 for Pine Creek Annual Goldrush Festival. One of the major highlights is the annual gold-panning championships, which are held on the banks of the creek at the bottom of Miners Park This competition is for everyone, all ages and stages, from beginners to expert. And you keep all the gold you find. First heat will be at 10am on Saturday 27th July. Put this on your diary.

But not only that. Gold is not the only attraction. Pine Creek Annual Goldrush Festival also offers heaps of other festivities.

The Art Requisition Prize and Exhibition will be held at Station Master House on Friday the 26th June starting 6pm till late. You can enjoy the exhibition with nibbles and drinks supplied. The prizes include People Choice Award and age prizes. First prize will be $2,000.

If you don't want to go panning, you still can claim your nugget by joining the nugget hunt. One nugget of gold will be found on Saturday. Just buy your stake, select your map coordinates and you just have to cross your fingers. Easy!

You can also show us your damper making skill on Saturday. Flour, water and golden syrup will be supplied for you to try your hand at this age old craft. Be there and impress us

If you don't want to show how to make the best damper then you can try your hand at some traditional camp oven cooking. From beginner to expert, this is your chance to show your culinary skills with a traditional method of cooking. From 2pm on Saturday, the camp fire will be ablaze with perfect coal. So bring your ingredient, your camp oven and cook up a storm. Judging will be take place at approximate 5.30pm. Be there because there will be great prizes to be won.

Another highlight of the festival is the free concert held on the Saturday night, in the Miners Park. This will be a great evening of entertainment for all the family. Double Remedy – Bunny Fountain and Kerry Osbourne – will entertain you under the starts with live music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Bring along a chair or blanket and the entertainment will start at 7pm. Food and bar will be available. Sorry, no BYO.

Pine Creek Annual Goldrush Festival is a fabulous event. Admission to all events is free. Market stalls, food stalls, vintage car show and shine are awaiting for your visit too.
