Food, Vibes, and View worth the Pilgrimage
Back in 1980, a cafe full of bliss was founded in Milton on the South Coast, which then branched out to a beautiful location by the beach in Cronulla. Pilgrims is the perfect place to indulge in a tasty but healthy bite to eat before hitting the surf, going for a walk, or simply soaking up seaside vibes.
Millenium burger (vegan) with a curry lentil pattie
On a corner across from Cronulla RSL, this cafe sitting above street level has a view spanning from the train station around to South Cronulla Beach - great for those who like a little people watching. Don't be fooled by the discrete ground-level entrance that had my friend thinking it was shut all this time.
Up the stairs, you'll find yourself in a beautiful well-lit space with white-washed walls reminiscent of the beach, and timber flooring with warm hints. Easygoing staff welcome you with smiles and await your order up at the counter. Choose a window-side table for a more scenic lunch (or brekkie).
Tofu wrap & Millenium burger
You'll notice Pilgrims really seem to like their burgers, pies and wraps. Each of these come packed with a variety of wholesome veggies, and the portions are sure to fill you up. My tofu tummy was very happy after one of these wraps - starring tofu, rice salad, fresh lettuce and tomato. The peanut sauce added a little spice to these subtle flavours.
Fresh, raw veggies are abundant in the meals, with these ranging from leafy greens to goodies like beetroot in the Millenium Burger. I've tried this vegan option before, and relished the mingling flavours of avocado, sweet chilli, tahini and curry lentils. I can also recommend their pumpkin pie, which came in a crisp pastry, and my choice of side - refreshing avo and tabouli.
Brekkie lovers, you're spoilt for choice with the wide selection of wholesome dishes on this menu. Not to mention there is a separate All-day brekkie menu so honestly, sleep in and rock up whenever you like to this super chill space. Think Acai bowls, buttermilk pancakes with fruit, and sourdough with your choice of toppings. And can confirm, their soy caps hit the spot.
Open kitchen lined by rustic bricks can be seen as you come up the stairs
There is a great range of delicious, nourishing food and drink on offer in this relaxing Cronulla cafe. Not to mention their special menu they have on Friday and Saturday nights that's all about Mexican - Burrito bowls, dips, enchiladas and more. Looking forward to tantalizing my taste buds with these soon. If you'd like to celebrate the occasion, you're welcome to BYO wine (only).
