Pig the Star was written and illustrated by Aaron Blabey and published by Scholastic in 2017. It is 30 pages long and retails for between $10.00 and $16.99. In this book, Pig gets bitten by the fame bug and decides to start a career in front of the camera.

Aaron Blabey really out did himself with the illustrations in this book. Pig's shenanigans grow more and more ludicrous as you turn the page.

Pig radiates with confidence in each illustration and thinks the camera loves him.

You see him dressed up as Marilyn Monroe in a blonde wig and white dress and lounging about as a mermaid in a wig and bikini and prancing about as Madonna in a yellow leotard and cone-shaped bra.

Pig is doing great! Everyone is giving him attention! But then the cameraman notices Trevor the sausage dog and thinks he can be a star as well.

Will Pug be able to stomach sharing the limelight with Trevor?

The Pig the Pug books always contain a positive message in them for children. My favourite part in every Pig book is the end where Pig learns his lesson. Pig the Star does not disappoint in that department. I am looking forward to reading Pig the Grub when it releases next month in September to see what trouble Pig will get into next.
