Pig the Pug is the first book in Aaron Blabey's bestselling Pig the Pug series. It was published in 2014 and released as the first book in a three book deal that Blabey signed with Scholastic. Pig the Pug is 30 pages long and retails for between $10.00 and $16.99 and is suitable for small children.

Pig the Pug was a huge hit in Australia when it was released and became an immediate bestseller. The series has developed a strong following among adults and children and critics have labelled Pig the Pug an instant classic. Pig the Pug has been translated into multiple languages and published all over the world. It has won and been nominated for numerous awards and has sold over 2 million copies.

Aaron Blabey is rapidly becoming one of my favourite Australian children's book writers and illustrators. He is such a good writer. His words have a flow to them and mingle so well with his illustrations that always pop off the page and make you laugh.

In Pig the Pug we are introduced to Pig who is a greedy and selfish little dog who lives in a flat with a sausage dog named Trevor. In t,he book Trevor asks Pig if he can share his toys with him. Pig reacts angrily to the suggestion and refuses to share. The book contains an important message about sharing and ends on a humorous note.

Kids will love the character of Pig who is cheeky and naughty and needs to be taught a lesson.

A brand new Pig the Pug book called Pig the Grub is scheduled to be released in September 2018.
