Pig the Pug returns in a candy-fuelled Halloween rampage. Pig the Monster is the ninth book in Aaron Blabey's New York Times bestselling children's book series Pig the Pug. It is 24 pages long and suitable for children between 3 and 5 years of age. It was published by Scholastic on 1 July 2021.

It's Halloween night and Pig is on the prowl. His hunger for treats is so unhinged, he runs from house to house, demanding all the sweets. If he feels like he doesn't get enough, he loses his temper and starts smashing eggs and hurling toilet rolls. Will his friend Trevor be able to teach him to respect people's homes and share his treats?

Pig the Monster was a great addition to the Pig the Pug series. I really liked Blabey's illustrations and his use of colour and humour in the book. The orange cover really pops and Pig is hilarious in his whacky costumes. My favourite part of the book was the adorable Trevor who steals the show in his Thelma the Unicorn costume.
