For all-day breakfasts including great 5 Senses coffee, get yourself to . Since opening in 2008 they have (in their own words) become 'an institution amongst the eclectic mix of Surry Hills' locals'.

The menu offers plenty of tasty options for breakfast and lunch seven days a week. They open later to serve dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The food has an Italian twist and is very tasty as well as great value for money. There are daily blackboard specials and some gluten-free and vegetarian dishes on offer.

Even on a wet wintry day, the atmosphere was upbeat and happy and it was very comfortable sitting outdoors under the heaters - the leafy outlook provided a haven from the inner city bustle. The service was friendly and efficient and we were not rushed in any way during our relaxed lunch.

I chose the blackboard special of pea & ham soup for $12 as I was not very hungry but wanted something warming. The soup was delicious, filling and just the right consistency. It was served with two large slices of toasted sourdough that came in handy to clean up the bowl. The chicken, chipotle and quinoa salad was cooked to order and was very satisfying with its variety of tastes and textures.

is fully licensed serving beer, wine & cocktails as well as tea, coffee and soft drinks. It is wheelchair accessible, suitable for children and dog-friendly. They take credit cards, have a takeaway menu and can cater for large bookings in the courtyard areas.
