The Pie Time store is tucked away among other stores and next to the TAB on North East Road, just before the historic township of Tea Tree Gully. When we drove by, a young gentleman was standing outside wearing a foam pie shape. This caught our attention and made the bakery stand out from among the rest of the eateries.
When we entered the bakery, it also stood out because of its range. Savoury food included breads, focaccias, sandwiches, salad rolls, pizza, hot dogs, pies, pasties, sausage rolls, quiche and chips. Sweets included, cheesecake, cakes and slices, biscuits, apple pies, iced birthday and family cakes and even fruit salad!
The eating area is clean and spacious, well able to accommodate several families dining at once. The Pie Time staff also make a good cup of cappuccino and a nice cup of tea. The take-away side of the business is very popular as people were entering and leaving with paper bags full of baked goodies all the time we were eating. Service was prompt and efficient for such a busy café.
