Pie of Origin is a fundraiser running alongside the State of Origin each year. Each year NSW's very own Glenorie Bakery and Queensland's Beefy's pies donate a portion of their pie sales towards a worthy cause while supporting their home teams.
In 2016, Pie of Origin is supporting Westmead Children's Hospital. Running for the 5th year, the aim is to raise $15,000 this year. If you are a Blues supporter, then head to Glenorie Bakery to get a pie on your plate and support your state. Not only will you be supporting your state, you will also be visiting the bakery that serves one of the best pies in Sydney.
Known for its meat pies, Glenorie was voted top 5 pies of the year in 2012. Every beef pie pack you buy, Glenorie Bakery will contribute a percentage towards the fundraiser.
Don't settle only for the beef pie packs this year, other favourites include chicken and avocado pie or the vegetable pie. Note, this is no ordinary veggie pie, packed with roast veggies, sweet potato, pumpkin and brie cheese every mouthful of this pie will want you go back for more.
As we get closer to game 2, make sure you head to Glenorie Bakery in Sydney's north west and support your team and participate in Pie of Origin.
Grab some mates and visit before the 2nd game on 22nd June and you may also be just in time to see the NSW Blues inspired croquembouche being prepared by the talented baker JB specially for this season.
