Pie Hard
Love the concept at this place. It's got to be one of my favourite take away places to grab a quick bite where I know its always going to taste delicious. Best thing is there are many locations around Sydney especially in the central business district so whether its lunch hour, a breakfast on the go, afternoon snack, or dinner, this is the place for you, and I love the fact that you can even get a pie face pie at most airports at any random time of day... the only trouble I've had is, it's difficult to stop at one!

Don't know if that's because they make the pies just the right size to tease your appetite further, or perhaps I just eat a lot, but the only problem I have is, it doesn't quite fill me up enough... But get this; there are mini pies too! Yes, that is exactly what it sounds like, a tinier version of the normal sized pies that come in the same variety of flavours. But again, that really would not do a great job of filling me up. It's literally one (okay maybe two or three if you take tiny bites) mouthful; great for kiddies though..

I already mentioned the fantastic variety of traditional and not so traditional flavours you can get at Pie Face, but my absolute favourite is the vegetarian pie. I have never had this flavour anywhere else, and it is absolutely delicious; creamy, oozing with flavour, and the vegetables are cooked to perfection; soft and nourishing.

They also do coffees that come in weak, medium, strong and super strong for those of us that need an extra kick in the mornings or whenever else it is that you drink your coffee/s... If you're not such a big pie fan and don't feel particularly like pie-ing hard that day, there are other things you can choose from the menu including sandwich rolls, pastries, and sausages. Also, look out for the breakfast deals including a coffee and a pie.. not a bad option.

And how cute are the logos! Pie Face has got to be one of my favourite food logos of all time; it just makes you want to go in there and eat a pie, doesn't it! The only downfall to going in is that Pie Face shops are generally tiny and can only fit a handful of people at a time, so seating arrangements can be cramped. It's best to grab and pie and pie hard elsewhere; that would be my recommendation anyway.

And don't forget to grab a loyalty card and get all your pies stamped.. you'll be getting a free pie or coffee in no time I bet.

The coffee is nice, so are the staff and Pie Face stores are certainly conveniently placed but since visiting an early store in Bondi about ten years ago I have been gobsmacked by the ordinariness of the flavours - both in range and taste. There is no Mexican - either beef or vegetarian, nor Tandoori Chicken, any lamb pie nor seafood. I'm waiting.....
