New York is one of my favourite places in the world. And it has some of the most well recognised icons - from the yellow cabs to Times Square.
The essence of the city - its vibrancy, ambition and beauty - has been captured in a photographic exhibition that's on display in Perth now - at the Art Gallery of WA - until May 12.
Picturing New York: Photographs from MoMA features over 150 works of the 'city that never sleeps'. The pictures were taken by artists 'responding to the city' as well as newspeople on assignment and the photographers include Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, Lewis Hine, Helen Levitt and Cindy Sherman.
