Right in the heart of the City are the Botanical Gardens - a lovely tranquil setting with mature trees, an avenue of Bunya Pines, walkways by the river and lawns on which to spread your picnic blanket for an afternoon of easy listening and live music. Flower beds alternate with the seasons but one of my favourites are the hibiscus beds with the most colourful and varied types on show.


Brisbane City is putting on for you all afternoons of mellow jazz sounds, modern reggae and dub vibes, gypsy swing and more, against the lush backdrop of the City Botanic Gardens.


There will be food trucks within the gardens for snacks and drinks, so it's a hassle-free time as well.

It's all happening from 12:00–4:00 pm on the third Saturday of the month from April to November, so make sure to pencil this relaxing event into your calendar!
